  • 1.  Unknown State/Address - Deployment Wizard

    Hi All,

     

    I have searched in all ITCM documentation that I have and dont found anything about it.

     

    I have a scenario with ITCM 12.5 SP1.

     

    When I do the deployment by deployment wizard, and run the Scan for the hostname that I wrote, the result is this:

     

    Unknown.PNG

     

    The hostname in this result is the correct, but the state and the addres is Unknown for each one.

     

    Why I get this States/Addresses ? How can I fix it?

    Hi Oscar,

    It looks like a name resolution problem. Can you please check the following on the domain manager computer?

    ping <RemoteHostName> -a        (Is this resolving the name into the address?)

    nslookup <RemoteIpAddress>      (Is this resolving the IPAddress into the hostname?)

    nslookup <RemoteHostName>     (Is this resolving the name into the address?)

    Are you using DNS for name/IP resolution?

    Or are you using the hosts file?

    Hi Jordi,

     

    Thanks for your time to reply.

     

    ping  -a  *remotehostname*= ping request coulnt find host *hostname*. Please check the name and try again.


    nslookup ipaddress = We don't manage the IP address of the computers that we'll deploy.


    nslookup *remotehostname* = It doesnt resolving the hostname (Result= *domain* can't find *hostname* : Non-existen domain.


    We are using DNS.


    And it resolves some hostnames and some not

    Hi Oscar,

    Thanks for your feedback.

    As per it, I suspect that the computers you are trying to deploy the agents to, have not a record definition in the DNS system.

    Can you please verify it?
