How to retrieve Autodesk or other program licenses?

We need to collect the used licenses codes to install the software app (i.e. autocad, office, vmware workstation, etc) in each computer.

Is there any already implemented process to retrieve this info in Client Automation?

Hi,

The only license code ITCM collects is for Windows.

This is a gray area where this data normally is hidden or encrypted, there are tools out there but i see this as borderline hacking and I doubt that CA will engage in this gray area.

Having said that is DMS scripting so flexible that you can write your own inventory modules for this, if you know how to get the data.

As Kim has stated there is nothing OOTB that can collect the license code for an installed application. If you can script this then Client Auto could run the script.

CA also has another product called CA IT Asset Manager.

With this product you can register your license codes and then reconcile them against your discovered software inventory. While this is not a solution for your current issue it might be worth considering for the future.
