U00022028 Unable to open file './uc4.smc', error code: '2'

Hi All,

we installed an AIX agent on a server and while starting the service manager this error popped up.
U00022028 Unable to open file './uc4.smc', error code: '2'

as far as i understand the uc4.smc file, creates automatically when we start the services, but it did not.
could someone please suggest what is the cause.

howdy,

a) you defined 2 different phrases [Destination UC4] and [Destination AUTODEV] but the file names are the same.
b) SMGR does not fine the smd file in its bin directory: No such file or directory -- Did you start the SMGR with the correctly spelled Phrase?

Hi, 
I have the same issue and while looking for solution I saw this post.
I can't seem to find the uc4.smc file in the installation files, is it under another name? or where I should find it?
I'm installing Linux agent on Centos 7. I attached the list of file in the bin directory after the unpack of the tar file.

howdy,

you defined 2 different Phrases - [Destination UC4] and [Destination AUTODEV] with the same file names.

make sure they are different e.g. uc4.smd and autodev.smd AND they are located in your SMGR's bin directory

We had to create a new file and the solution worked. I did not try the solution you provided, however it looks more logical.
I will test this in upcoming installations.

What we do is create an empty uc4.smc file as part of the installation.
