I have a rather recent 12.2.x, and I can not recall having been asked to enable telemetry, and I don't have a UC_TELEMETRY_SETTINGS variable in client 0 either. The last time I heard talks about this, it was designed as an opt-in program for willing customers, but the documentation reads differently.
I'm as puzzled as the next guy ...
So since there's two possible outcomes now the way I see it:
a) there is no telemetry (yet)
b) there is telemetry, but it's not visible ...
... my personal advise would be to firewall the AE like I would any closed source black box product, block it from any internet access unless granted individually for very specific reasons, then potentially claim breach of contract if the product in the future should stop to operate purely for an inability to phone home.

Interesting. This documentation page says "if you consent", which suggests it is optional? I don't have access to a V12 system though, so I can't really look at its settings.

Hello, we are planning to upgrade automic application to v12.2.3. I am viewing the release notes and the Telemetry section. We cannot consent with the telemetry, as the application is located in isolated network segment without any outside connections, due to the security restrictions of our customer. Can we continue using new version without the Telemetry functionality? Thanks in advance for your response.
