  • 1.  How to find a word inside the message bodyof a CALL Objet

    Posted Jun 26, 2020 10:36 AM
    Hello,

Because of a change in our mail adresses :
We had to find a precise adress like "toto@engie.com" everywhere in the OA objets:
in order to change it by  the new one.

We used the "advanced search   / ad fiter crieria   / objet contents  "
BUT : we missed the toto@engie.com in the body of the message in the CALL objects

    Was it normal?

Is there an another way no to miss it ?
    (SQL query for instance ?)

    AWA 12.2

    Thanks a lot

    Hi,

The message text is not a field available in the search engine as far as I know. To look inside the text you need to query the table OOA of the DB. For the email address list if set directly in the recipient field, you need to query the table OOI. The names of objects are in the OH table that you need to associate in your query if you want to have the list of the objects found by name.

Both tables are described in the _structure/HTML folder in the db folder that is used to install and/or set the DB for initial installation or upgrade.

Reminder : to modify such fields, the easiest is to export all objects founded in an XML file, update value in the file and import the modified file.

    Regards.

    Hello,

Alain has already told you how to find the missing email adresses in the DB. But I do not favour the approach using the XML export / import. Using edited export files might cause problems at the import.

When you are touching the CALL object anyway you should consider to put the whole signature into a VARA. Most of the CALLs I have created have their content added up in the process section. Globally used information is then read from the VARA and placed into the email body text that is in a variable. A simple PUT_ATT is then placing the text into the body section of the email. Doing this might look too complicated at first sight. But your change here would have been to browse through the VARA(s) and replace the few records holding email adresses. Small change - big effect.
