I have a system that's using Automic UC4 to run mainframe jobs which quite often get contention abends. I have trying searching through the manual for 11.2 which we are using for setting automatic restarts and cannot find anything on this. Does anyone else use automatic restarts for mainframe jobs and if so can information be provided on getting this process setup so i can start avoiding manual intervention on the process

UC4 workflow task properties has a "Postconditions" section that we use for automating restarts.

However if you can identify the contentions and if they all originate from UC4 tasks, then it is very easy to program UC4 to automatically avoid those collisions via SYNC objects.

    Hi Lennie,
you can find more informations regarding Postconditions here: Postconditions Tab.
The required condition is STATUS or RETURN CODE and the required action ist RESTART TASK.
You can use &$RESTART_COUNT# as a counter for the restarts that have already taken place automatically.
    Kind regards,
    Tim
