Why is a VARA to GRID widget not available for public access

Hi there,

Can someone (maybe @David Ainsworth?) explain why a VARA to GRID widget shouldn't be available for public access? Of cource, it could display sensitive information, but if it does, would I publish them? Or in other words: even if I don't use sensitive data within a VARA to GRID widget, I'm not able to publish them. That doesn't make sense to me...

Hi @Christoph Rekers

Allow public access to this dashboard only works for widgets using the analytics datastore and not AE database. 
This works as designed as was requested by customers and there are no current plans to change this behaviour.

If you are using the Automation Engine version 12.3 or below you will be asked to login to view VARA objects, even if you have selected Allow Public Access to this Dashboard. 

You could add a new ideation ticket and we will see if it gains significant support from the wider customer base.
