AWI on only one client performing poorly.

We run four clients in production, two don't run many jobs/workflows and two run about 450k jobs per day.

The issue is only on one of the clients, where the right-click pop out will take 8 to 20 seconds to appear.

Other clients on the same infrastructure and same database respond in 1-2 seconds.

The primary difference I can find in the two is that the 'slow' client has ~365 Event Objects active and the 'quick' client as ~95 active Events.

I would suspect your database engine is where the overhead is occurring, and the AWI is just a victim of this overhead.  Do your DBA staff monitor the performance of this AE database?  They should be able to identify the SQL that is running long, why it is running long, and make recommendations from there?  (There may be no solution, but at least you would understand the cause.)

more learnings - this only occurs on the Process Monitoring perspective, and in a subtask of a workflow. Jobs or Events on their own do not have a delay. Inner workflows and jobs have a delay in loading the menu.

There doesn't appear to be any increase in activity on the database when the pop-out menu is loading. No blocking, and in increase in I/O, CPU, or memory.

When you perform the action in the AWI, does the AWI log or the DWP logs show a long running time critical call? I've seen queries in the past run poorly (even in just a single client) that were improved by the DBA's fixing the execution plan.

I'd look to see if there was a difference in the time for results between a performant client and the one affected from the same action on the calls being made.
