Automation Engine version 12.1

Automic Workload Automation version 12.1 is currently planned for release on 30 June 2017. Is a list of planned improvements and new features available? Here is a list of planned improvements I have been able to cobble together from various sources:

• Improved help function in AWI
• Improved AWI performance
  
• Ability to edit Service Manager records in AWI
• Licensesview in AWI
• Send-to(other client) function in AWI
• Open Generated Job function in AWI
• Advanced search function in AWI
• Ability to move objects to other folders in AWI
• Centralized agent upgrade
  

Most of these features are related to the Automic Web Interface. What other improvements will be delivered in v12.1, and especially, what improvements to the Automation Engine?

Moreover, is there an official list? I have seen presentations about v12.1 at Automic Live and during our visit to Automic HQ, but I was not able to find a list of planned improvements on Automic’s web site.

We would also like to know about transport case compatibility between versions. Specifically, will it be possible to load a v12.1.x transport case file into a v12.0.x Automation Engine? This question comes up every time we do a version upgrade.

Hi Michael,
I heard that V12.1 is postponed until after the summer, supposedly to end of September.

I bet we'll hear more about V12.1 week after next at Automic World in Düsseldorf!
Automic already announced a few things for 12.1 last fall at Automic World in Orlando, such as:

• Full Rest API
• IPv6 Support
• Integration of Critical Path Analysis
• Central administration for multiple AE systems (mainly useful for MSPs, I guess)
• A new features, probably with costs, they called: "Data Driven Event Processing" last fall

I also heard that the AWI will support all RA types in 12.1, will have key shortcuts, and a few other minor improvements, but these are all still rumors - looking forward to learning more in Düsseldorf in two weeks!

Hi,

I had a chat with the PM regarding this and yes, this is true - 12.1 got a new release date which is end of Sept this year.

Automic Company will offer the opportunity to get into a Preview Program for interested customers to give them access to sprint builds.

But this will be only valid for test purposes only - non for production systems.

Any 12.1 updates since AW Europe?
A confirmed set of enhancements would make migration planning easier(ie do should folks jump to V12 or V12.1?).

From what I have heard, "Critical Path Analysis" will NOT be part of AE 12.1, can anyone confirm this ??
