Can anyone give a "decent" explanation of the "Lead Time Satisfactions" that are choices for an "external dependency? The documentation provided by Automic is very confusing, and are open to a lot of interpretations.

Also the "same logical date" option does not work the way I would "logically" think it should. And again the documentation provided by Automic explains, but leaves a lot of questions.

    Thank you

Did you see the diagram in the documentation? I agree this topic can be difficult to wrap one's head around, but the illustration showing several different examples helped. That coupled with the description eventually started making sense to me.

The illustrations aren't very clear. Does the external dependency need

to be running or active before the previous run completes? That is
what the illustration seems to show.

And what about activation times? Why does the external dependency need
to be activated prior to the process flow being activated?

Also is logical_date a 24 hour period or a calendar date? Because if
I'm waiting on logical_date, again the dependency needs to be
activated prior to the process flow being activated.

Also when you have lots of sub process flows, the activation time for
the sub jobs is offset from the activation time that is set by the
primary process flow. So timing of dependencies becomes even more
difficult as I don't know when a dependency will be activated if the
    system is busy

I'd suggest that you set up a couple of small test process flows and observe the behavior for each of your questions.  You could then compare the documentation with your results and would be able to draw conclusions based upon the empirical evidence.
