Issue:
When I choose the ‘Text’ option and type on the canvas, whatever font I had previously selected, like ‘Brittanic Bold’, will automatically return to the default of ‘MS Shell Dlg 2’ once I start typing. When you first choose a new font and font size, then enter text, it will always return to the default font and size once you start typing. If I type, then highlight the text to edit it, there is no issue.
To reproduce the issue:
- Launch Agile Designer.
- Create a new flow.
- In the ‘Toolbox Dock’ in the left-hand panel, choose the ‘Text Freeform Text’ option. You just need to have it selected.
- Click anywhere on the new flow canvas and you will see that a text box appears.
- Select a font from the drop-down located in the top, right-hand side of the screen like 'Brittanic Bold'.
- Type anything on the canvas like ‘Test’.
Expected result: The text that appears will be in the Brittanic Bold or selected font type.
Actual result: The text will automatically return to the default of ‘MS Shell Dlg 2’ once I start typing.
Cause:
This was a known defect in ARD 2.2. It has been fixed in the ARD 2.3 GA release.
Resolution:
If you are still using ARD 2.2, here is a workaround for this issue:
- Launch Agile Designer.
- Create a new flow.
- In the ‘Toolbox Dock’ in the left-hand panel, choose the ‘Text Freeform Text’ option. You just need to have it selected.
- Click anywhere on the new flow canvas and you will see that a text box appears.
- Type anything on the canvas like ‘Test’.
Highlight the text you just entered. If the text is not highlighted, you will not be able to edit it.
Choose a new font from the dropdown list in the toolbar. You can see the text changes font.
With the text still highlighted, click the up arrow on the font size. You can see that the font size increases.
If you are using ARD 2.3, you should no longer experience this issue.
