  • 1.  Moving UMP to primary hub-robot 9.20

    Posted Aug 30, 2020 05:57 PM

I would like to know if there is a procedure to migrate or to move the UMP to the primary hub-robot.

Nowadays, UMP Server is in a robot apart, not the primary hub-robot. Is there some procedure or order of the activities that must be carried out to migrate the UMP. I read a previous discussion related to the migration of the UMP but it is not my case, of a secondary UMP.

I don't know if I should uninstall the UMP deployed in the primary hub reporting robot and then reinstall the UMP with the installUMP in the primary hub.

I would really appreciate your help.

    Hi Reinaldo

Its not recommended from performance perspective to run ump on same robot as Primary hub robot unless its a very small deployment

    Hi Franklin,

    Thanks for your time

We have that point pretty clear and our case is that, a small business, or rather, a proof of concept, in an environment of a client seeking to promote UIM within its organization. It does not have more servers and due to time constraints, we need to perform this migration to take advantage of current resources. It is not a long term configuration

So, it would be helpful if you could guide us or indicate how we should proceed

    Hi Reinaldo

You can run the ump uninstaller from Primary hub and uninstall ump
Then can rerun the ump installer pointing to Primary robot

Note the UMP will be removed from 20.3 in favor of Operator Console. So from the standpoint of a PoC, it might not make sense to worry about UMP.

    Thanks,

Now, we have this situation. We unistalled the UMP 9.20 but when we try to run the installer from version 9.02 this indicates us that there is an UMP of version 9.20, and therefore, it is not possible to reinstall the UMP in another robot.

Should we remove the wasp probe from both robots (UMP and primary concentrator)?

removing wasp from the old UMP robot should be all that's needed.
