  • 1.  HA probe on the primary and on the secondary hub

    Hello,

    We have a set of primary and secondary tunnel servers between the client hub and our primary hub.

    Client 1 --- 48003 ---> proxy1 -----> primary hub

    client 1 --- 48003 ---> proxy2 -----> primary hub

    So, if the primary tunnel server die, the client fallback to the secondary and the show go on from there.

    Then we have audit, qos, discovery and alarm queues on the proxy1 server attach to the client. Same queues are on the secondary proxy server but disabled.

    On the secondary server there's the HA probe that will start the client queues on itself if it can't communicate with the primary proxy server.

    This is working fine. But we are in a scenario where the secondary server does nothing 99% of the time. Do you know if it's possible to have half the client queues enable on the primary server and the other half enabled on the secondary server. HA probe configured on the primary and on the secondary proxy configured in a manner that if the primary can't communicate with secondary it will start the other half the queue that are currently disabled.

    Then, same config on the secondary. If the secondary can't communicate with his primary it will start the queues that are disabled at the moment to have all clients queues enabled until the primary come back. Then, when the other server come back, it disabled the queues that normally run on the other server.

    We have no robot configure on these two tunnels servers. It also serve as a proxy (tunnel) between the client infra and our infra.

    Thanks

    From a technical design standpoint, no, it's not supposed to work this way.

    On the other hand I have accidentally installed the HA probe on both the primary and secondary sides of a "pair" and the probe didn't care so you should be able to configure them taking the mindset that when configuring HA, it is on the "secondary" and that each hub is both a "Primary" and  a secondary to the other.

    Hi Guillaume,

    What you state has not been tested nor is it supported by the HA probe. That said, it may be worth testing to see if it might work in a Test/DEV environment.
