MCS templates are Grayed out

    Hi all,

    UIM 9.0.2 in Oracle I´m not able to make any change on the MCS template by the interface, is gray out

    This customer has two environment and both are the same. I create a lab 9.0.2 with Oracle database same as my customer and also the same issue.
    I was thinking about permission but I can create and detele the template but not able to edit.
    I did use the restfull interface and able to make changes on the xml, this mean is no permission on the OS siden.


    I already applied the MCS 9.0.2 HF 6 same issue.

    Raw configure on the mcs has the entry for the automated_deploy_engine.

    I already delete the entire probe redeploy again same issue.

    Any other advice on this Grayout MCS problem.

    scroll down to the bottom of the profile screen what does the status say?
    have you tested this as administrator?

    Hi Gene,

    Long time I don´t talk to you.

    Yes I tryed with administrator, also create two more user with administrator and super user also same problem.

    On the probe probe administrator I also set the mon_config to super * and same issue.
    Also I removed the mon_config_ from the probe admnistratror and also create again same issue.

    It is deploy but not able to edit.

    Hi Gene I just cannot opened the article 125640, besides that I check and redeploy the oracle mcs and same issue. Don´t matter the probe even CDM is like that, Grayed out. Do you know if 100% secondary hubs must have the ADE? Customer has 26 hubs but just 17 has ADE

    Did you create Default Disks in the same USM group/device location you are currently looking at? This is a cdm template, maybe try deploying setup cdm . verify your using enhanced or not enhanced and keep constant. Verify version of cdm. Just some ideas. have same instance when try to modify mcs that was created in a different USM group with different account.

    Hi Gregg regards the default disks I create on the same group and different group even a unique device, always is grayted out. I already redeploy cdm templates, the last two version same issue. even others probes, I also tried CDM and with enhanced and same issue. But the environment is HUGE 9.000 robots and not able to have the same cdm probe to all since sone ones are old robots.

    Not sure what can be yet.

    sorry about the post about the oracle probe and mcs.
    I miss read the problem and thought it was for the oracle probe not CDM.
    can you double check your ACL in thehub\security.cfg
    Below is my working one for super user.

    I assumed there is no "lock" icon next to these and your tries deleting and such. Does it work from another workstation (cache issues?)? MCS probe logs?

    Gregg if I try to create a new template he allow me just to click create but not able to change anything else. the edit on the template looks like locked, if has a garbage can I can click and delete, but even on the creation I cannot even see the drop down for the logs level. 

    We already tried with many users and many workstation and same issue.

    Regards caches we already clean open as private and same issue.

    What i will do now is deactivated the wasp on portal, delete the work directory from wasp and will reactivate the wasp probe, no more ideas.

    I just clicked the + sign


    If you click logmon probe + sign you can see the only button is available is create even the mode CAT is grayed out. I never saw this behavior before.

    But If I use the Restfull interface and can make changes, get the xml, make changes on the notepad ++ and make the changes, and execute the put on the restfull mcsws interface and works fine.


    This is the only way I can make changes on the profile by using the CA MCSWS Restfull interface.

    I see that you applied mon_config_service-9.0.2-HF6.zip, while it is not listed as a requirement I would recommend that you apply UMP902_HF2 and then reapply the mcs hot fix, if you have not done this.

    Thank you for the reply.

    I was able to find the issue and reproduce on my lab.

    If you apply the UMP 9.0.2 HF1 this hot fix is making the MCS to gray out, below are the print screen from my lab after apply the HF1

    Customer is using Oracle DB and also I create a Oracle lab too.

    I applied the UMP 9.0.2 HF2 on my Oracle lab and the MCS now is working fine.


    @broadcom support team can any one ask for update on the release notes that the HF2 fixed a issue with MCS gray out.

    I do not think DEV will change the Release notes for HF2.
