License update issue

    We received new license key but there is no option for modify license.


    Please suggest.

    Are you logged with Administrator at primary Hub?

    If you are using UIM 9.x, does not need license.

    We are using DXIM 9.20, "does not need license" what this means, can you explain bit more please.

    Removed License Dependency (Hub, Robot, Probes)
    From CA UIM 9.2.0 onward, hub/robot- and probe-level licensing requirements have been removed. Deploy the hub, robot, and distsrv versions released with CA UIM 9.2.0 to remove the license dependency. With this change:
    • The hub UI displays the license information as perpetual.
    • The addition or deletion of license is no longer applicable.
    • distsrv 9.20 has a dependency on the robot 9.20/9.20S.
    •  Take a backup of all the existing licenses before upgrading to CA UIM 9.2.0.
    If you want to continue with the older versions of hub/robot and probes that require an extension of the license, contact Support so that they can assist you in extending the license (if required).

    1) How will this impact regarding to new installations?
    - Is there no need for purchasing licencing for new servers?

    2) How will this impact regarding to renewing licensing for installations?
    - Is there no need for purchasing renewing of licencing?

    3) Will the DX Infrastructure Manager software still be developed, bug-fixed and security enhanced from Broadcom for the upcoming year(s)?

    The software no longer has a built in licensing mechanism. You are still responsible for honoring the licensing restrictions in your contract. Mostly I believe that this change was a cost saving effort and it brings DX IM into line with the way that Broadcom licenses its other software.

    --Yes, it is still licensed the same, just we are no longer providing keys.

    2) How will this impact regarding to renewing licensing for installations?
    - Is there no need for purchasing renewing of licensing?

    --Your company will still need to renew if you wish to continue support and get software updates if you are on perpetual licensing.  If on Subscription, you will no long have rights to the software after the end of the contract.  If you need capacity licenses or new probes in the other packs, those still need to be purchased.

    3) Will the DX Infrastructure Manager software still be developed, bug-fixed and security enhanced from Broadcom for the upcoming year(s)?

    --Yes it is still being developed as part of our overall AIOps strategy,  there is a update coming out in the next few months. Hot Fixes are coming out as defects are reported.
