Hi: The RESTmon probe is designed to collect metrics from web resources where it's not possible to install an agent/probe. Your description of 'monitor the status of a service' doesn't appear to match very well. However, you can convert status page messages into whatever metric you want and then raise an alarm against that, which might be the way to go.
Are you able to post a fragment of what the service provides when you connect to it, please?

I need to monitor the status of a service every 30 minutes and for that need to add an XML file (to be executed). Tried Editing the default JSON file , not sure how to insert the file.
