    Hi Everyone,
Is it possible to identify which applications  require the use flash for any part of their functionality, using UIM.

With Flash coming to end of support, we are trying to figure out the list of applications that uses it.

    Thanks,

    Thanks Howard,

I am wondering if we can scan the network with UIM  and identify any other applications using flash.

    Hi Gene,
We have PRD reports, list designer dashboards report schedulers configured. We have configured various trend reports in PRD and have several dashboards which are configured using list designer.

Please suggest how we can port the reports in Operator Console as without flash these will not work.

Please search the communities for UIM 20.3
There are plenty of topics out there on the removal of flash and what it will affect and how it will be dealt with in 20.3

    Sushovan Sinha,

There is no "port" or "migration".  OC requires CABI, in OC under the "Reports" section there is "Health", "Group", "Group Trend Report", that can be scheduled or end users can run as needed, (self-service).

    Hi Gene,

I noticed while accessing our UMP, that only the dashboards section prompts us to Allow Flash / Get Flash.  Do you know whether or not the Reporting section requires Flash as well?

The reason I ask is because we are never prompted to 'get flash' in the reports section...it just works, which leads me to believe that Flash may not be required for reporting.

    Thanks,
    Chris A.

It depends on the reporting being used.
The Dashboards in 8.51 and newer used HTML5
but the list designer and PRD were flash and have been removed.

Thanks Gene!  Another question -- our UMP is currently on 8.47, but we have upgraded our UR (Unified Reporter - which is of course the reporting piece) to 8.51.  In this instance, with the UMP still on 8.47, are the reports good to go?  Or does the UMP also need to be upgraded to 8.51.

    a couple of things
We have never supported a newer version of PRIMARY pieces Primary hub, UMP, UR etc being on different versions.

so if you are running UR 8.51 the rest of your system should be on 8.51>

but as you know also the 8.47 has been EOL for a while.

If it is working I would not change anything until you are ready to fully upgrade to a supported version.
Just FYI UR is not supported on the latest version of  UIM. This has been replaced by CABI.

Yup yup, we are currently in the middle of a large initiative to get fully upgraded (we've ran into a number of hurrdles which have prevented us from upgrading sooner).  But outside of support, I was just curious if UR 8.51 uses Flash or HTML5.  Would you be able to confirm that?

If not, no worries, I'll proceed with opening a support case.

    Thanks Gene!

So UIM 8.51 Dashboards us HTML5 but Listviews and PRDs use Flash.
I do not think UR uses flash but not 100% sure as it was depreciated before the FLASH change.
If you are not getting a FLASH error in the browser then it is not.

Remember this FLASH constraint is strictly a browser issue.
