  • 1.  Error message on console "infrastructure Manager does not support the database provider. NIS Feature will be disable"

    Posted May 21, 2020 10:51 AM
The application is up after restoring Controller.cfg file. but we have another issue where in alarms data is not visible under alarm console, USM alarms

NAS_Transaction_Summary Tables and  NAS_Transaction_Logs tables is also empty.

There is an error message on console "Infrastructure Manager does not Support the Database Provider. NIS Feature will be disable".
But same configuration is running in other environment.

    Please advice.

that error in IM message windows can be ignored.
You will see this on a newer version of MS SQL server and all versions of MYSQL and oracle if they are in use as a back end.
The NAS_* tables are updated by the NAS probe.
Make sure the nas probe and alarm_enrichment probes are working and no errors in their logs.
Also check the nas configuration to make sure the nis_bridge is enabled.

NAS and Alarm_Enrichprobe is working fine and NIS Bridge is enabled

The only error that I find on the logs is below:

    May 21 12:04:29:902 [139970848777984] nas: dbGetAlarms dbCommitTransaction transaction: 10.109.10.105/43294    rc: 0

May 21 12:06:09:962 [139972044650240] nas: maint:  Unable to obtain nimNamedSession for registration to: maintenance_mode.

Maintenance Mode is in error state but not sure if this could hinder alarm processing.

the only thing I can suggest would be the following
    Deactivate NAS.
Drop the back end nas_* tables from the database
remove the *.db files from the nas directory
activate NAS probe and see if this does not correct the problem.
you may want to try deactivating maintenance_mode and activating it again to deal with the registration error.
