  • 1.  UIM failover from DC to DR

    Posted May 08, 2022 11:52 PM
    Hello community,
We have installed UIM in two zones (DC and DR). However,  we have onboarded robots irrespective of zones. Though, we have enabled queue mechanism to transfer the data from DR to DC and wise versa. Here,  we haven't configured HA probe as its manual switching from DC to DR. Now, we are going to perform DC-DR fail over so what configuration files needs to update in DR hence it should works similar to DC?

We are mainly concerning about below probes:
    nas,
    sdgtw,
    snmpcollector

Please help me out if any one has done similar kind of setup.

    Hi Eshwar,

You are not using HA? HA would start the needed probes for alarm handling during failover and back, but as long as your nas probes are configured with same AO's it should be fine. your just increasing flow to nas to handle all alarms. snmpcollector can be run from any hub, or duplicated if necessary. the sdgtw should be configured to match production probe config and be tested from DR location by starting and stopping.  Your question is a little vague so not sure answer is right. If your are able test, test, test.

    Hi Gregg,

We are not using HA in our environment. We have 1 Primary hub and 3 relay hubs in DC and same setup in DR side as well. As you said, we will replicate AO's for nas probe and ServiceNow profile for sdgtw probe.

We have dedicated hub for SNMPCollector in both the zones. However, the profiles we created in DC side should also be present in DR side. So, how we will replicate those profiles to DR side?

    Try this:

Or maybe just import the devices as you did on your original after copying templates:

    Hi Gregg,

Thanks a lot for your effort.

As we know that SNMPCollector has it's own db. so, how we can import data from DC SNMP relay hub to DR SNMP relay hub? and one last question is that how to avoid critical alarms for queues disabled?

I think the snmpcollector docs explains the best way to duplicate or move the probe and relevant profiles.

for any alarm there a pre-proccessing rules or close AO's to restrict or change severity of an alarm. You could also use the HA probe on your secondary Hubs to disable any queues set up to connect to any other Hub being turned off. It would auto sense no hub communication and then turn queues off or on.
