In general only one interface should be used to administer a probe, IM, AC, or MCS.
Deactivate the mcs profile, delete the probe at the robot, deploy and administer either via IM or AC.
The vmware probe developer wisely locked the config gui in this way to prevent corruption of the probe instance.
Just to be clear deploy any probe via mcs, administer via IM or AC, and it is expected the probe instance will be corrupted.

Hello David,
We need to add new VC under monitoring and discover its respective Esxi .
As Vmware probe is now in read-only mode due to MCS applied on it , due to which we are not able to add the new VC via Vmware probe GUI.
So we are not sure of the process to be followed to add/discover the new VC and esxi .
Thanks
Aditi

Not sure where the problem is:
if robot side the delete the probe from the robot and have mcs push it out again
if mcs profile side, make a change to the profile or to the template and see if that forces a rediscovery

Hi Team,
We have Vmware probe 7.14 version .There are few VC added in the probe and respective ESXi discovered and now MCS is also applied on it.
Need to know as MCS is applied Vmware probe GUI is now in read-only mode ,is there any way we can add new VC and discover the ESXi .
We tried to discover the new VC via UMP console , but VC got discovered as Virtual Machine and not as VC , also do not know the method to discover the related ESXi .
In the DX IM documentaion also we found how to apply MCS profiles only , but there is no other way to discover the new VC's once MCS is applied?
[vmware MCS Profile Type Configuration->https://techdocs.broadcom.com/content/broadcom/techdocs/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/it-operations-management/ca-unified-infrastructure-management-probes/GA/alphabetical-probe-articles/vmware-vmware-monitoring/vmware-mcs-profile-type-configuration.html#concept.dita_4bc6c87df6e1ca09d294c4bf4a71c74ba23b513b_CAUIM902CreatevmwareGroupConfigurationProfiles ].
Kindly suggest on this.
Thanks in advance!
