Setup SQL Server MCS Template does not appear

Hello, we need some help

We are trying to deploy the Setup SQL Server MCS template to a static group but we do not find the profile in the Available Monitoring.

We make sure that both the probe sqlserver 5.45 and the probe sqlserver_mcs_template 5.45 package are in the Archive, and also we downloaded to the Archive and deployed the vs2010sp1_vcredist_x64 and vs2010sp1_vcredist_x86 packages v1.01 to the robot running the OC.

However, the profile still does not appear.

We are in DX UIM 20.3.1, robot v9.32, mon_config_service v20.31

Don't know. With sqlserver_mcs_templates deployed to the primary hub SQL Server (Enhanced) should be available and it is still showing disabled. So it might be there but seems it did not get picked up, perhaps there is a greater problem. There are some callbacks that may help to understand what's going on.

Hi David, 

We managed to activate the mcs profile of the probe as you suggested: redeploying the mcs_template package to the primary concentrator and using the callbacks of the mon_config_service probe's Probe Utility. 

Now we have a new issue, we made a query to the UIM DB to see the status of templates and we found that almost all templates have by status: error and that the completion date or final timestamp is the same (some of them where migrated successfully) 

QUERY: SELECT * FROM SSRV2ProbeTemplatesPackage

We applied the suggestions from this article: How to migrate MCS package templates when the migration fails after upgrading from 9.01EA to 9.02 (broadcom.com) , even though still not working. 

Also, we looked in the mon_config_service log and noticed these messages:

Any ideas on how we can resolve this situation.

Well, seems this comment from my prior post is applicable 'perhaps there is a greater problem'. 
Didn't find anything on this or the log directly helpful. 
Are all of these templates being used? 
Perhaps they were just there, not used, and in an error state all along before upgrading. 
It might be better to just focus on the templates you want to use, and for that it is probably better to get direct guidance via a support case.
