  • 1.  Monitoring server AIX 7.1 Cluster

    Posted Jul 29, 2019 04:49 PM
    Hi everyone.
    I need monitoring 2 nodes that are in cluster. I am thinking with cluster or HA probe but I think they are not supported.
    The server's are ------>
                                        OS Name: AIX
                                        OS Version: 7.1
    When deploy HA the distribute message indicate "No sections found which can be installed"
    I can deploy cluster probe but when try configure indicate "No plugin configured for cluster"

    Other idea for monitoring my AIX OS in cluster?

    cluster probe would be what you would want to use and the probe compatibility matrix shows it is supported for AIX 7.1.  Link below to installation and configuration.

    Hi Dan.
    I think that it supported and I deploy without problems, try configure and it shows only one option which is VERITAS cluster and when I try to select it , en error pops up "No plugin configured for cluster" .
    What can be the problem? I see the prerequisites but I don't believe that this be the problem

    Hi Dan,

    I have validated and the cluster AIX use PowerHA – IBM AIX, is possible that the cluster probe not working with this software type?

    Hi Miller

    The cluster probe for AIX platform supports Veritas Cluster versions 5.1 or 6.1.
    The probe is not certified for IBM PowerHA cluster software.

    Thanks @Franklin Ravi D'souza
    I have other question. Maybe for monitoring the services in cluster enviroment, can I use tha HA probe? but when I deploy this probe in server AIX the message "No sections found which can be installed" I think that maybe not supported but the documentation indicate that yes, AIX 7.1 support HA Probe.

    What can I do?

    @Miller

    UIM HA probe is used for setting up a Secondary hub (i.e 'standby' hub) for Primary Hub failover

    Below links provide more information on the functionality .Cannot be used to monitor cluster services monitoring use case
