  • 1.  UIM 20.3.3 Metrics does not show up with German SQL Server Version

    Posted Aug 05, 2021 04:58 AM
After upgrade from UIM 20.3.2 to 20.3.3 + HF2 the Alarm Metric View is not working.
We got feedback from Broadcom that this is related to German localized SQL Server and conflict with some DB fields.
In previous UIM releases that has been upgraded it was not a problem.
First we got feedback from Broadcom that a fix will be provided but now the Broadcom engineering team and  product management confirmed that this issue will need Certification of German Locale. At this time there are no plans to certify German / any new  Locale in the upcoming 20.4 release. It is on the roadmap for future releases.

I share this because others might run into this problem after upgrade to UIM 20.3.3

    Kind regards,

    Hello Britta,

We will certify German localized SQL Server in the upcoming UIM 20.4 release.

    Best Regards,

Hi Ram, hope you are doing fine. Is there any ETA when UIM 20.4 can be expected ?

    Kind regards,
    Britta

Thanks to a very active customer in Germany we found a workaround:
You have to set the "Default Language" in SQL for the user, that is defined to access the UIM DB, to use "English  - us_english".
This works on-the-fly and does not require any restart.

    Cudos go to this customer.
