    hi all

i was creating a test environment and installed UIM on a unix server , the installation was successful.

i am not able to access the test server through Infrastructure manager installed on another server the same is used to access the prod environment also .

the server home page is opening so is the admin console is any specific port opening required from this server to primary hub of test environment?

    regards
    Nijin

There are a few reasons this could be.
    1) Firewall blocking ports 48000-481000 inbound
    2) it could be you installed a sucure hub version such as 9.30S version which only allows IM to connect on 127.0.0.1 which is not possible on linux machine.

we would need more information about the version of UIM you are running and the version of controller and hub you are running to provide more details

If this is an 8.51 install the only reason why IM would not be able to connect to the server is the local firewall preventing access.
Change your firewall rules to allow inbound 48000-48100 and this should correct the issue.

by inbound you mean traffic should flow from primary hub to the im server or the other way round
i mean the network guys would ask for source and destination , so require a clarity on that

the machine runing IM is the client. The UIM primary hub is the server.
The UIM server firewall is the problem
The traffic is inbound to the UIM server.

you should probably review the below.
    https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/it-operations-management/unified-infrastructure-management/20-1/installing/pre-installation-planning/firewall-port-reference.html
this will be the same for 8.51

Nijin, as discussed easiest way to check is to try telnet connect on these ports (from server where IM is installed to UIM server).
As Gene suggested, firewall is the most probable reason for IM to not be able to connect. You would need to check, confirm and request openings on these, according the architecture diagram you use, and firewall ports matrix provided above.
