    Hello,

I am looking to monitor and alert on vCenter services status on VMware appliances. We have vCenter 6.X environment on appliances and can't install the agent on them. On the vmware probe metrics page, I am not seeing much references to vCenter services.

    https://docops.ca.com/ca-unified-infrastructure-management-probes/ga/en/alphabetical-probe-articles/vmware-vmware-monitoring/vmware-metrics

Ideally, if any of the vCenter services below are down, I would like to genrate an alert. Let me know if vmware probe or some other probe can do this.

    applmgmt (VMware Appliance Management Service)
    vmware-cis-license (VMware License Service)
    vmware-cm (VMware Component Manager)
    vmware-eam (VMware ESX Agent Manager)
    vmware-sts-idmd (VMware Identity Management Service)
    vmware-invsvc (VMware Inventory Service)
vmware-mbcs (VMware Message Bus Configuration Service)
vmware-netdumper (VMware vSphere ESXi Dump Collector)
    vmware-perfcharts (VMware Performance Charts)
vmware-psc-client (VMware Platform Services Controller Client)
vmware-rbd-watchdog (VMware vSphere Auto Deploy Waiter)
    vmware-rhttpproxy (VMware HTTP Reverse Proxy)
    vmware-sca (VMware Service Control Agent)
vmware-sps (VMware vSphere Profile-Driven Storage Service)
    vmware-stsd (VMware Security Token Service)
    vmware-syslog (VMware Common Logging Service)

    Hi Ankur,

Unfortunately vCenter services are not specifically included.

That said, check out this url:
    https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2054085

You may be able to either create a custom probe to execute a command(s) via SSH or use the nexec or logmon probe to do so and determine the service up/down status but a custom probe is probably the way to go. Broadcom (HCL) field services may be able to help with that effort as well.
