It sounds like you are doing this the hard way.
if you just want to send an email to a person when the alarm is assigned to them, Just make sure they have an email address set up in their user profile.
then go into the general settings in the emailgtw probe and check the box to email on assignment:
https://docops.ca.com/ca-unified-infrastructure-management-probes/ga/en/alphabetical-probe-articles/emailgtw-email-gateway/emailgtw-im-configuration#emailgtwIMConfiguration-ConfigureGeneralPropertiesEmail on Assignment: converts assigned alarms into emails and sends to the email addresses defined in the profiles.Default: Not selected
If I have miss understood you business need let me know......

Subject: Trigger email when an alert is assigned to a User
We were trying to send out an email from UIM to the user, when an alert is assigned to that User. We tried the below but no luck in getting the desired output
- Created a profile in email gateway probe with the email ID, subject and message body.
- Created a trigger in NAS probe under Auto Operator with the condition message assigned to that user
- Created a profile in NAS probe under Auto Operator with action type as EMAIL, Action mode as on trigger and selected the trigger which is created on step 2.
The challenge here is, when we choose the on trigger action mode, the subject and message body is mandatory in profile. it doesn't take the subject and message body on the email gateway probe. And also the subject and message body on the profile in NAS probe, won't take the alert variables. So how could we send the alert details to the user over email?
If anyone of you has done it or have an idea on how to get this implemented, please post your thoughts here. This help would be much appreciated!!
