  • 1.  CA ADA 10.5 and MTP 10.5 Upgrade

    Posted Sep 24, 2018 07:57 AM

    Hi All,

We are currently running CA ADA 10.5 integrated with 3 CA MTP 10.5 as monitoring devices.

    from link below:

End Of Service - CA Application Delivery Analysis Multi-Port Monitor

CA MTP 10.5 is going to EOS on October 3, 2018. Means we have to upgrade our MTP to latest version.

Latest version of CA MTP is only compatible with the latest version of CA ADA, and we also need to upgrade our CA ADA as well.

Is there any recommendation/ best practice upgrade for both CA MTP & CA ADA? which one should be upgraded first?

We want to minimize the down time for upgrading process.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi License ISGS,

I'm not sure of the answer but I'm sure the ADA team in the Infrastructure Management Community can help answer this.

    Thanks,

    Michael

    Hello.

I suggest stopping ADA console services, upgrading MTP to 10.6, then upgrade ADA console to 10.6. Repeat for 11.0 and finally 11.0.2. This keeps releases in sync and reduces data incompatibility potential between Console and vMTP.

    HTH,

    Steve

    Hi steve.crowl & polmi05,

Before the upgrade of CA ADA & CA MTP, any files need to be backup?

    Thank you.

In addition to backing-up the ADA database, there are files to backup if you are using HTTPS/SSL. See various files referenced starting with step 5 in https://docops.ca.com/ca-application-delivery-analysis/11-0/en/installing/post-installation-configuration/enable-https-for-the-ca-application-delivery-analysis-web-interface/

    Good luck!
