  • 1.  Can casdgtw acknowledge nimsoft alarm server invisible alarm message

    Hi,

     

    Would like to know if casdgtw can acknowledge invisible alarm message.

     

    I am using below

     

    Service Desk Manager version 14.x

    Probe casdgtw version 2.51

    Uim version 8.5

    UMP version 8.5

    Nas version 8.42

     

    Have set the casdgtw probe owning system to service desk and tested closing ticket of visible and invisible alarms.

    On log level 5 casdgtw seem to get the list of closed alarm id from Service Desk Manager of close ticket of visible or invisible to process.

    Visible alarm seem to be acknowledge by the acknowledgeSDBasedClosedAlarm api call .

    Invisible alarm did not trigger acknowledgeSDBasedClosedAlarm api call.

    @Guan Hua Chee Thank you reaching out to the UIM community. I see you also have a case opened for this question and you are working directly with the support team on finding out if this is possible, but using the replacement probe of casdgtw, which is sdgtw, that does support SDM 14.x.

    Hi Macro,

     

    It seem there was some known defects with casdgtw and sdgtw with invisible alarms.

    I have also created  an ideaMake casdgtw probe to support now and future CA Service Desk Manager

    Hi Guan Hua,

     

    For CASDM 14.1 and casdgtw 2.51, invisible alarms are not closed when corresponding incidents are closed from SDM. However, currently casdgtw does not support CASDM 14.1, please consider deploy sdgtw.

    Hi Guan Hua,

     

    we have at least one test build for sdgtw 1.40 that resolves the invisible alarm issue from UIM side.

    Hi,

     

    I logged a case 01003286
    Support have also tried sdgtw 1.40 GA and shared before closing.
    Visible alarms: alarm is acknowledged in UIM side when incident is closed by different user as used in probe from SDM side.
    Invisible alarms: alarm is not acknowledged in UIM side when incident is closed by different user as used in probe from SDM side.

    Hi Guan Hua,

     

    Yes, sdgtw 1.40 GA has same issue, but this is supposed to be already fixed in 1.40 test build.

    Hi,

     

    I have created an idea Make casdgtw probe to support now and future CA Service Desk Manager for this.

    As I saw in the CA Unified Infrastructure Management Release and Support Lifecycle Dates - CA Technologies no indication of EOL or EOS for this probe.

    So should continue for a probe dedicated to CA product unless it not in the future release.
