This would be a step-by-step model you could use:
1) Create a Portal View
a) Setup all the tabs, pages and portlets you wish to present to the customer.
b) Go to Manage > Site Pages
c) Export the LAR file: Click the Export Button (Found in Manage > Site Pages)
d) Name the export, leave all the default options and click Export.
2) Create a Site
a) From the Go to Menu select Control Panel, then Sites
b) Click Add > Blank Site
c) Name the site, and choose Private/Public, then Save.
d) Click View All to Return to the Sites Page
e) Assign users to that Site (Actions > Manage Memberships)
f) Click Add Members > User
3) Import Portal View Pages to the Site:
a) Return to the Control Panel > Sites Tab
b) For the site, go to (Actions > Manage Pages)
c) Go to the Private/Public Pages tab, then click the Import Button
d) Select the LAR from the previous export - Click Import
* On the Look and Feel tab for the Private/Public Pages, Select UMP Read-Only from Available Themes and click Save.
* Remove "Portal Administration" ACL in NMS for the users that are connecting.
