Automatically delivery UMP site to a costumer

Hi,

I'm working at a MSP and we have a cloud system to deliver VMs to our costumers. I would like to provide basic monitoring informatoin from ca ump (liferay) site.

 

Is there a way to automate the process to, eg (basic steps to provide a simple site): 

- create an user;

- create an account and associate this account to an "origin";

- associate an existing ACL;

- provide access to a site (from a site template);

This would be a step-by-step model you could use:

 

1) Create a Portal View
a) Setup all the tabs, pages and portlets you wish to present to the customer.
b) Go to Manage > Site Pages
c) Export the LAR file: Click the Export Button (Found in Manage > Site Pages)
d) Name the export, leave all the default options and click Export.

2) Create a Site
a) From the Go to Menu select Control Panel, then Sites
b) Click Add > Blank Site
c) Name the site, and choose Private/Public, then Save.
d) Click View All to Return to the Sites Page
e) Assign users to that Site (Actions > Manage Memberships)
f) Click Add Members > User

3) Import Portal View Pages to the Site:
a) Return to the Control Panel > Sites Tab
b) For the site, go to (Actions > Manage Pages)
c) Go to the Private/Public Pages tab, then click the Import Button
d) Select the LAR from the previous export - Click Import

 

* On the Look and Feel tab for the Private/Public Pages, Select UMP Read-Only from Available Themes and click Save.
* Remove "Portal Administration" ACL in NMS for the users that are connecting.

Thank you for your help and attached file.

 

But you mentioned about steps to create a site. That is not exactly what I wanted. I mean, I would like to know if there is a way to automatically run those steps to create a site and provide it to our customers, eg, via scripts or via webservices using process automation (ca pam).

 

Imagine a MSP who have to provide automatically monitoring services when one vm (or more) is created at first time. I would like to provide UMP site to this customer but automatically.

 

I already have created a template site to our customers.

Hi Nelson,

 

I would suggest contact CA Services about this. They may have a better solution for you. 

 

There may be customers who have worked with CA Services to utilize other CA tools to do what you are looking to do.
