Virtual Host Manager (VHM) -  Pingables or SNMP Managed VMs?

We're currently in the process of rolling out VHM for a LARGE MSP Virtual environment based on vCenter technology. I've become familiar with the basic implementation and config in our Dev install area. What we're wresting with now is the modeling/mgmt. of VM's as either a Pingable or SNMP Based VM...

Do any users of VHM have recommendations as to the benefits and/or limitations of using an SNMP based Model vs a Ping Only Model?

It seems as we've either configured VHM to Discover SNMP Manageable VMs or utilized the "Upgrade to SNMP Model" function, we start seeing duplications, overlaps, and conflicts in data between manages VMs.

In turn, we've implemented CAPC with our Spectrum install and when Spectrum starts passing Model info to CAPC for it local Discovery process, we see mixed and inconsistent results.

I'm willing to admit that some of these inconsistencies ARE likely due to our attempts to wrangle management of our VMs, so that is the basis for this post.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!!!
