  • 1.  Cisco Ucs probe sends alert with hostname not with resource name

    Posted Jul 24, 2015 02:54 AM

    Hi,

    I have cisco ucs probe installed on a hub. What I see is that the alert are sent with hostname referred to the robot where the probe is installed, so there is no way to understand to whom is reffered the error. There should be the resource name instead of the host name of the roboto or is it possible to insert the resource name into the alert message?

    Hello.

    Let me try to mention some fingers to start walking through.

    1. What looks like profile setting in cisco_ucs probe ?

    Nimsoft Probes: cisco_ucs v1.5

    Message Identification Settings -> Alarm

    2. What looks like definition of the alarm you have received ?

    The message text (alarm context) can be seen in probe GUI - Message Pool.

    http://docs.nimsoft.com/prodhelp/en_US/Probes/Catalog/cisco_ucs/1.5/index.htm?toc.htm?1913169.html

    Variable (string starts with dollar ($)) is embedded in message, which is how it works out.

    Hope it helps.
