probe_decom is a front-end probe that can accept a NImAlarm to remove devices from UIM.
The probe will call the already posted tool: nimsoft_delete_device to do the real delete. (this tool is included in the probe package)
Example:
nimalarm -l 1 "decom devicename"
nimalarm -l 1 "decomperm devicename"
The
decom keyword will execute with: prevent_rediscovery=n and
decomperm will execute with: prevent_rediscovery=y
By default the package will try to run the compiled version, but non-compiled version and instructions are included and documented.
Comments are very welcome
Note1: for heavy usage it is recommended to run the non-compiled versions, in the appendix of the doc the setup of a Perl environment is explained.
Note2: see some updates further to find the latest probe archive package: probe_decom_1.3.5.zip
Note3: if you are a MySql user and you want to use the compiled versions, you need to rename: nimsoft_delete_device_mysql.exe into nimsoft_delete_device.exe
Version 1.3.5 is a repackage because the included utility: nimsoft_delete_device is now updated to be able to support TLS 1.2
Version 1.3.6 is a repackage because the included utility: nimsoft_delete_device is now using a SQL WHERE clause, for request from probe_decom, to limit the selected devices and qos metrics (depending on your number of qos metrics this can be a big performance improvement)
