  • 1.  Upgrade for PAM 4.2 - running or blocked processes

I am planning the upgrade of PAM from 3.1 to 4.2.

In the 4.2 Installation Guide under Carry Out Upgrade Prerequistes, it says:

"Ensure that no CA Process Automation processes are currently active, that is, in a Running state or Blocked state."

    before shutting down the Orchestrator(s).

If there are long running processes, should these be Paused before shutting down?

    thanks,

Yes, all processes should be in a Completed, or Suspended state.   If not the process may not be able to resume where they felt off, after the upgrade is completed, and would need to be suspended, reset, and then resumed to pick up where they left off.
