    Hello,

I have installed API Gateway Layer7(9.4) but I got the following error once configuring it : "Error creating database when saving configuration 'Unable to create database'"(see attached screenshot).
I think somthing wrong happened during database setup but I'm not able to identify the root cause! Is there any log file for the installation ?
I noticed that the db has been created and then rolled back on MySQL server but with no tables at all !! and no user 'gateway' (see MySQL logs)

    Could you please advise?

    Kind regards,
    Bakkali Hicham

As per your screenshot. can you give a try with
    1. database name: ssg
    2. Administrative database username : root

Are you using the appliance gateway. The default user for administrator is "root" and password is "7layer"

Assuming you are using an external database, does the use E_My_Admin user the have 'WITH GRANT OPTION'?  If it hasn't it will be able to create the database, but will not be able to complete the configuration of the gateway database user.

    Hello,

    I installed the following :
     - OpenJDK 1.8 on machine A
     - JCE on machine A
     - Gateway software 9.4 (not the appliance gateway) using "ssg-9.4.00-8872.noarch.rpm" on machine A
     - MySQL 8.0 on machine B
I tried above proposals : My E_My_Admin user with GRANT option, using root as administrative database user but unfortunately it didn't work(same error) !

    Hello Hicham,
    Gateway 9.4 supports MySQL 5.7.x
Support for MySQL 8 is introduced in Gateway 10.0

    Hello,

I came to the same conclusion after testing but I find frustrating that you sepcify a MySQL version 5.7 or higher ..
    https://techdocs.broadcom.com/content/broadcom/techdocs/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/layer7-api-management/api-gateway/9-4/release-notes-9-4/requirements-and-compatibility.html

    MySQL
Supported: Community or Standard Edition 5.0 and higher
    Tested: Standard Edition 5.7
