  • 1.  cloned gateway along with OTK refactoring steps

    Posted Mar 28, 2020 11:09 AM

We have an existing appliance Dual gateway (1 DMZ and 1 LAN) setup in our one server, say server A. We wanted to clone it to another server system say Server B, hence our infrastructure team just cloned it to Server B from Server A. Now after clone we have to make many changes like change the gateway passwords, remove MAG and keep only OTK, delete all policies and services, etc.

Can you suggest which exact steps we have to follow so that this newly cloned dual gateway would be a complete working system?

For your information: To save the time and efforts, we have cloned it without performing any gateway installation steps.

This is not a recommended setup as there GUID (node.id) created for the server which might conflict.

    Approach would be:
    1. Create a gateway from Scratch
    2. Use Restman to import Policies and Password from Server A to Server B.
    3. Use Migrate Out Option to import with Solution kit

You may want to look at restman | GMU setup to migrate policies between gateways seamlessly
    https://techdocs.broadcom.com/content/broadcom/techdocs/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/layer7-api-management/api-gateway/9-3/apis-and-toolkits/rest-management-api.html

Here is another utility that assists in migration

Having said that you can continue with your existing setup just updating the node.id of the gateway service in the node property file. and then use restman to update relevant details
