I am using the instructions at Back Up Gateways.

I cannot get ssgbackup.sh - I get permission errors, and there is no sudo.

What should I do to get this to work?

There are two ways to back up your data in the : The information described in this topic applies only if you are using an external MySQL database for your Container Gateway implementation. Backups are specific to a node.

    Hi Philip,

Have you tried running it as layer7 user or change the file permissions?

    Thanks

    Hi Philip:

Is this an authentication error with user/password connecting to the DB?   The user would have to have MySQL admin privileges to backup the entire DB.    Check the mysql.user table for users setup for the ssg database if you were not the one who configured the DB initially.  When booting up the VM  "root" is the default DB user for the ssg database and is the user that typically executes the DB backup but you can setup another user if needed for security reasons, this user just has to have the correct DB GRANTS.

Glad to see you are backing up the DB.  :)

    Regards, Alex.

    Hi Philip:

Our field team reviewed this script and approach with the Layer 7 Product/Development team and they will soon update the documentation with a better  method for a container architecture.  It did not make sense to be logging into the container to perform the backup with the ssg_backup.sh script.   There will soon be an update to the documentation regarding what container data should be backed up and with more appropriate tools.

Sorry for not picking up on this sooner for you.

    Regards, Alex.

Thank you - as background, it was an authorization error running the script.
