Anyone know which Rampart version API Gateway 8.3 supports?
Thanks,
Mike
Hello,
As far as I can see we are not using Rampart in our implementation. I can find no reference in our documentation and also no .jar file in the directory where dependencies are kept.
I would say that Rampart is not supported for use with our gateway.
But from what I can see in the Rampart documentation this library is used to define WS-Security policies for specific services. It needs to be installed in both the client and the server because it is easier that way to configure both ends to communicate with one another. In the samples I have seen, the client is usually configured with a policy to generate a WS-Security SOAP message that will be authenticated by a server with a corresponding policy.
I believe you should be able to use a Rampart enabled client with our gateway, if you configure the Gateway's policy appropriately. Some assertions that might help you are the following:
Generally speaking our gateway has many assertions surrounding WS-Security. You can have a look through our documentation to get a better idea.
I hope you find this information useful. Please let us know if you have any further questions or if we can mark this question as "Answered".
