    Hi All,

We are facing time to time automic WPs and CPs to 100%, WP logs are like "deadlock or lost connection to Database".
Currently we are on windows server 2016 (VMs) with MS-SQL database in cluster.

Due to DB issue, we had moved to dedicated Database instance but on a shared VM.

Still we face the same issue from time to time (3 times in last 10 days) with slowness of executions and AWI for 8 to 16 hours.

    Changes that are performed are,
    • 14th Sept, 2019 - changed ODBC driver from SQL Native client 11.0 to ODBC driver 17.0 with MARS connectivity enabled in both cases.
    • 17th Sept, 2019 - upgraded AE from 12.2.2 to 12.2.3 HF1.

    Issue occurrence:
    1. 21.Sep for 8 hours.
    2. 23.Sep for 8 hours.
    3. 30.Sep for 16 hours.
    4. Attached are screenshot of MQ table values during that time.

Based on all scenarios, DB\storage\VM\Network\Firewall teams say no changes and no abnormailty observed.

Automic support is still investigating the logs. But based on priliminary analysis DB query is taking more time.

Now we are planning to check on cloud solution. Is anyone faced similar issue or ready to share your cloud experience, please get back to me.

    Hi,

Some points maybe helpfult to be checked:

    - Virus Scan on DB server is scanning the Data Files of the AE DB (mandatory to exclude from scann)
    - MSSQL Server Index Reorg was starting on tables with high I/O (what the AE Queue Tables are)
    - MSSQL Server - after MQ Tables gets fragmented to much (In the past there was a SQL available from Support to copy MQ Tables, delete the old fragmented one and rename the copied back to the removed one)
    - Backup of MSSQL DB or Snapshot of VM

    Best,
    Franz
