sftp_java - the remote pat

Hi 
This is my first time using AUTOMIC, I am setting an SFTP_JAVA job, the vendor(where I need to send the file) is telling me    
.  "that they don't require the path and it seems like using the path messes things up more than it helps. If the remote path is a requirement".
Here is my set up 

If the remote pat  an AUTOMIC requirement, can I just create an AUTOMIC job the will execute a shl script? 
I don't have problems when I send the file from the command line in UNIX, 
something like this
echo "SFTP starting now ..."
/usr/bin/sftp 1373StonehillFTP/xxxxxxx @ftp.medicatconnect.com
put stonehill_demog.txt
EOF
echo "Transfer complete"

I use a different product (Automic/UC4/RAFTP), and it requires the path field be populated too.  But I've discovered I can populate it with a single slash and get things to work.  Have you tried that?
