  • 1.  Evaluate Prompt only once

    We are using Application Manager v9.2

    I have an AppWorx Chain with 3 jobs in it. I have declared a prompt value: ItemFile_{#timestampYYYYMMDDHHMMSS}.txt (this is for the chain)

    First job takes this prompt and executes a program to generate a file. It is creating ItemFile_20190913110935.txt
    Second job takes the same prompt and executes another program. It is failing because, the same prompt now is evaluated to ItemFile_20190913111022.txt

    If you see the file name, the timestamp is different. hence the second job is failing.

    Is there any way I can instruct application manager to evaluate this prompt only once at the beginning of the process and not for each job.

    Yes, create a prompt at the chain level and pass it to the 3 jobs using the prompt number, ex: #1, in the value column on the job.
