       AM/DNA/Fiserv Technical User Group Call

      06/24/2020 @ 3:30 – 4:00 EDT

      Facilitator: Kellie Brown/DFCU Financial

Minutes: Clifford Dawkins/SC State Federal Credit Union (SCU)

    1. Meeting called to order by Kellie of DFCU @ 15:33 eastern

    1. Introduced the following guest speakers:
    2. Frederic Caloone; Frederic.caloone-thuillier@broadcom.com; Broadcom; product manager
    3. Jim Holck; AscendoSoft, CEO/Sales Consultant
    4. Alex Givens; AscendoSoft, AppWorx Technology Consultant

    1. Frederic Caloone: Mentioned he works out of Paris, France and is taking over as the new product manager of AppWorx for Broadcom; he has worked in automation and job scheduling for over 25 years primarily in Europe

    1. AppWorx patch 9.3.1 & 9.3.2: polled audience response to any implementation and related experience(s); One participant mentioned there apparently a "bug" in "ntspawn"that may require you use an older version; any "ntspawn" before version 9.3.2 seems to work just fine

    1. AppWorx Color Change Restriction: since the implementation of 9.3.0, client institutions have not been able to use the commonly known "hack" to change the color of the AM interface which was beneficial when running multiple AppWorx sessions from different environments such as production versus test; unfortunately, no response was provided from Broadcom so facilitator(s) will follow up with named Broadcom resources

    1. AppWorx Native SFTP ssues: discussed the canned AppWorx "native" file transmission job that comes with the product that is no longer offered to new institutions whom purchase the DNA/AppWorx integration; However, existing institutions using the "native" AppWorx SFTP_JAVA job were assured by Broadcom that their intent is to continue to support this "native" job for those institutions whom still use it and need to continue using it. It is simplistic but not very robust and does require the maintaining of the "known_host" files; Fiserv also offers an FTP product like WS_FTP Pro but feedback indicated it was not particularly robust but some sites had "tweaked" to their preferences; it offers no post transfer options capability and is called by a specific batch script in the "%AppWorxHome%\%exec%" directory

    1. AscendoSoft: indicated they offer several add-on applications termed "widgets" that plug into AppWorx that extends automation for other production tasks; their WinSCP widget uses the WinSCP open source utility that does file transfers; WinSCP was chosen because of its inherent property of being controlled by another program such as AppWorx; it also supports multiple protocols as well non-standard ports; it also offers "pre" and "post" file processing as well as the ability to do certain tasks on the remote server other than file transfers; offers full logging , error checking and requires no maintaining of the "known_host" folder on the remote agent servers and is very robust; AscendoSoft questioned whether it could "poll" a remote server for the existence of a file and responded it can retrieve a listing of available files which then could be parsed in a number of ways to provide a file check solution; Another feature of the WinSCP widget solution is that the actual WinSCP program it uses is updated on a regular basis as ciphers and encryption algorithms changes as required by various vendors from time to time for increasing security

    1. Q&A: Opened call up for questions regarding any other technical issues with AppWorx that had not been mentioned yet; one institution was a new AppWorx/DNA client that asked about processing as a five day credit union. Both facilitators and AscendoSoft indicated their availability.

Minutes submitted by Clifford Dawkins, SCU…Thank you.
