DustinDauncey.jpgDustin Dauncey is one of the newer CA support engineers. The tenure on the support team averages at 20+ years, Dustin has been with us just under two years. Dustin is a Support Engineer for the CA API Management suite of products, including the CA API Gateway, the CA Mobile API Gateway, and the CA API Developer Portal, among others. Dustin's passion for IT started in High School, which lead him to the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Dustin said that the communities are a great way for people to get involved in the support world. Not only to help themselves through various topics but to help others as well.

“Others may have the same question and by one person asking it and it being answered by someone in the know, it can help all the others who had the very same question.”

He also believes that knowledge base articles are also a large part of the continuing “self-serve” portion that we recognize a larger group of people demand as part of their customer service experience.

“People just want answers “now”. I think that has been a large change I’ve seen over the years, and I suspect it’s because of how ready information is in other aspects of our life.”

Outside of work Dustin is still immersed in technology. He can often be found creating websites or teaching himself new developments in technology; such as a new computer language or learning how to secure a web or mail server. Outside of the tech world he does enjoy being around friends and family doing anything from just “talking over a drink to taking on whole new adventures together such as visiting somewhere we haven’t gone before or trying something new. For example, a recent new event I tried was an “escape room” which seems to be growing in popularity lately where I live, and it was a lot of fun!”

“The work-life balance is fantastic, and the people here are great! I truly enjoy working with so many talented people on a day-to-day basis. CA is also really good at recognizing people for their hard work and contributions on their teams, which is always appreciated like it is anywhere in life.”
