As a follow-up from our July 21, Rally Office Hours session, we’d like to share some highlights in addition to the questions that were asked, along with their respective answers.

July 21, Session Recap

Q: Crazy question, is there a known issue that when exporting Parent field is not coming over? If not, I'll put in a ticket.  Just came to my attention late yesterday.  I don't see anything in the Community regarding it, but perhaps I misssed it

A: The "Feature" column is what needs to be used and it holds the accurate feature for all stories. The "Parent" field will only get populated for actual user-stories parents (not features).


Q: Hi! I have been trying to deep copy a feature set in rally and it doesn't work. I have been told that this is a known issue that is not being fixed. I know this is impacting multiple groups at Optum. This is stunting our ability to use this tool for our needs. What are Rally's plans to fix this?

A: We resolved this on the call with the customer. We used the Portfolio Item Copy. This app allows you to copy portfolio items and their entire lower level items including stories and tasks.


Q: I supported users who reside in Ireland and India. Is it possible to have Rally Office Hour session for international users?

A: We discussed it in 'retro'. For now we can't offer that, but this is something we will continue to look into.  In meantime, please advise our European customers to join our community.


Q: Hi, can iterations or release that have been created without the cascade option selected, is this a way to revise to be cascaded?

A: We advised customer to open up a support case. There isn't a way today to go back and cascade after the timebox was created, however, there is a 'Create' button (not 'Create with Details') which seems to default to not cascade. This does need to change because it's leading the customer to a wrong experience. We advise opening a support case.


Q: do you have 10 or more features in your capability? The issue with with Capabilities that have 10 or more features. I would expect enterprise level proejcts to have this many or more regularly. 

A: User is using an app that's limited to only 10 portfolio items while copying. However, we shared and demonstrated the use of Portfolio Item Copy (provided in App Catalog). It has no such limitation. Customer already used it and confirmed it resolved their issue.


Q: Is it possible to make the workspace name more prominent on the Rally User Interface?

A: This is an RFE. Please submit product feedback via the megaphone in Rally.


Q: Following up on “Find my Admin” This would point to local admins or Broadcom admins? 

A: For now "Find My Admin" is being released as Way-Yin demonstrated on the call (published to the community as well), however, changes to this model shall be posed as RFEs.
