PPM Insights: Surviving-to-Thriving, Reasons Solution Leaders are Selecting SaaS

By Anon Anon posted Aug 09, 2017 01:34 PM

Hello fellow PPM Practitioners; as a former CA PPM customer and current Services Architect, I’ve been involved in many decisions to move to or implement solutions directly to the cloud. The trend is moving toward SaaS for several reasons. When considering your alternatives, check out the info below.

In my experience, one of the most valuable things about moving to SaaS is the ability to quickly, economically and securely upgrade to the latest system version. The (current)15.x series and new UX have been delivering desired outcomes by improving adoption, overall usage and enhanced functionality like never before. I’m not exaggerating when I say that the 15.x series (and beyond) are PPM game changers!

Here are some of my favorite excerpts from “Top 10 Reasons Customers Select CA PPM SaaS.”

Get Started Quickly

Organizations can quickly deploy and configure CA PPM SaaS, which simplifies the process of buying, using and managing the solution. This enables provisioning of users and modules directly from the vendor, which shortens time to value from months to weeks. In addition, CA Technologies offers migration services to accelerate the move to the cloud.

Lower Costs

CA PPM SaaS is a user-based subscription service, so organizations don’t need hardware, software, storage, networking gear or a large IT budget to cover ongoing administration and maintenance costs. CA manages a world-class infrastructure, including applications, databases and reporting services, that’s significantly more robust than what most IT departments can provide in-house.

Be Sure You're Always on the Latest Version

Since many IT departments don’t have the time, money and/or resources that traditional software upgrades require, upgrades are often delayed, technology gaps widen and business productivity suffers. With CA PPM SaaS, upgrades are included in the subscription to ensure that customers can always take advantage of the latest features.

Experience a Higher Adoption Rate

People expect anywhere, anytime access to modern tools, at home and at work. Employees are more prone to adopt CA PPM SaaS in their daily work because it’s accessible on any device and provides a great user experience based on best practices. Of course, flattening the learning curve also increases adoption, so we’ve eliminated redundant features and configured CA PPM SaaS so it’s exactly what people in specific roles need, including Project Managers, Executives and Team Members.

Rest Easy with Stronger Security

Security is especially important to the Project Management Office, which often needs to grant access to financial and project information to outside stakeholders. While IT departments with non-SaaS solutions worry about vendors accessing corporate data, they don’t have to worry if they have SaaS. CA provides a much higher level of security than most organizations can because of budget, resource and time constraints.

Also consider these advantages:

  • Guaranteed performance or your money back
  • Scale as you go
  • Seamless integration
  • Quicker POC
  • Greener alternative
