Here at the Mainframe Education team, we're happy to announce that new training is available for WatchTower z/IRIS. Consisting of two web-based microlearning modules, this training is designed to complement the product documentation and help WatchTower z/IRIS customers visualize the steps they'll take to configure the zArchitecture Bridge (ZAB) and install and configure the z/IRIS IronTap server.
Configure the zArchitecture Bridge (ZAB) for z/IRIS (06ZRS20010)
Starting with z/IRIS Distributed Version 1.3.4, z/IRIS is transitioning from the z/IRIS Client to ZAB for streaming operational data from z/OS to Kafka. This training describes the roles and steps involved in the process to configure ZAB for z/IRIS. After completing this course, you will understand how to configure ZAB for z/IRIS, including:
- Configuring the application.yml file
- Configuring the cold-subscriptions.yml file
- Configuring IronTap to use ZAB as a data source
- Starting the ZAB address space
- Verify data is flowing through ZAB
Install and Configure the z/IRIS IronTap Server (06ZRS20020)
This brief course demonstrates via a use case how installing and configuring the IronTap Docker Container facilitates the delivery of open telemetry Mainframe traces to your enterprise APM tools.
