Upgrade of the oi_connector probe from 2.03 to 2.11 FAILS

Hello,

we have recently upgraded our apm_bridge probe from 2.03 to 2.11 with no issues, we have uim up to 23.4.6.

when we attempted to upgrade the oi_connector probe from 2.03 to 2.11 it fails with the error of: 

Unable to load authentication DLL mssql-jdbc_auth-12.10.2.x64

Has anyone else experienced this, we have to roll back to 2.03 for the oi_connector

Hi Pat,

Is your oi_connector's data_engine_address parameter configured with the correct NimBUS address for the data_engine?

Was the authentication type for the data_engine recently changed to Microsoft Windows Authentication?

This error usually occurs because a Java application is attempting to connect to Microsoft SQL Server using Windows Integrated Authentication (integratedSecurity=true), but the JVM can't find the required native 64-bit Windows authentication lib (mssql-jdbc_auth-12.10.2.x64.dll) in its search path.

Do you see these files on your Primary hub?

Mine shows: mssql-jdbc_auth-12.10.0.x64.dll

Pat,

Did you already upgrade the UIMAPI on the OC robot to 23.4.6? Sometimes that gets missed.

DX UIM 23.4 CU6 requires uimapi v23.4.6. The error may be a bit misleading.

Upgrade it via drag and drop and cold start oi_connector again and share the results.

Yes, we have the uimapi 23.4.6 on the OC.

After reviewing with team members, they will leave the oi connector at 2.03 until we upgrade to either cu7 or cu8…

Hopefully, cu7 or cu8 has that specific .dll file….

Lastly, just curious, I do not see a “uimapi’ probe via IM for the OC, however, I do see uimapi files under the wasp directory from 3/2026

Has the certificate.pem file been copied from the Primary hub over to the dedicated robot where the oi_connector and apm_bridge are running?

Hi Pat,

Did you open a support case? If not please do and ask for it to be assigned to me.

This needs to be be fixed in the code and engineering is already working on it.

There were vulnerability fixes addressed and as part of it, the mssql java driver was updated from the 6.2.2.jre8 driver to the 12.10.2.jre11 driver. The 12.10.2.jre11 refers to mssql-jdbc_auth-2.10.2.x64.dll and the .pkg contains the 'old sqljdbc_auth.dll' instead of mssql-jdbc_auth-2.10.2.x64.dll.

We have a potential workaround for you in the meantime that we can share but I will test it first.

It looks like the version that you have is consistent with CU6, but the probe was updated with MSSQL JDBC Driver v12.10.2.jre11 with 2.10. Probably best to open a ticket with support.

I have CU8 installed, and had to copy mssql-jdbc_auth-12.10.2.x64.dll (from one of the directories that Steve listed previous) to my: C:\Program Files (x86)\Nimsoft\jre21\jre21.0.11_10\bin

I do not think that this process will work for you as the probe is explicitly asking for mssql-jdbc_auth-12.10.2.x64.dll, which was included as part of the CU7 update.
