  • 1.  Unable to discover the device in Spectrum

    Hi Community,

We are trying to discover a router device in spectrum but it keeps on failing with error ICMP respond but SNMPv3 does not. We have verified through SAPWALK from SpectroServer and getting response and also tried from mibtool in Spectrum and getting response from the device but not sure why spectroServer is not able to discover the device. BTW, Device SNMP is configured both v1 and v2c even though same problem is occurring. Kindly suggest!

    Eshwar,

I recommend enabling AutoDiscovery Debugging and see what the debug log has to say.

    • Log into OneClick as an ADMIN user
    • Find and select the VNM model
    • Click on the Information tab in the Component Detail panel
    • Find and expand the AutoDiscovery Control -> Debug Options subview
    • Set "Debug AutoDiscovery" to On
    • Try to model by ip the device
    • The should be a file in the $SPECROOT/SS directory that starts with "ADiscDebug". Check this file for errors.

You might also want to start a sniffer on the SpectroSERVER system and sniff the snmp traffic between the SpectroSERVER and the ip address of the device. See what Spectrum is sending and how the device is responding.
