    I have two questions:

First, what are the disadvantages of setting the T0 gateway as stateful so that the T1 gateway can be active-active?

Second, if the T1 is set active-passive and there are more than two edge nodes in the cluster assigned to it, does that mean that control is only happening from the one node?   This is for the purpose of hosting NSX segments, not for other services.

I am trying to understand the flow of information from a VM on the segment to another VM on the same segment elsewhere.  Does the T1 edge node only perform control processes but the data flow is all handled at the host transport node level?

I have sorted things out for the above questions.  I went down the wrong rabbit hole... I had created the T1 and, by default it sets the HA mode to active/standby which requires an edge cluster.   I hadn't noticed the routing only option.

That said, we have a T1 gateway that is currently configured with an edge cluster that is not actually being used for anything.  Is there any reason that I couldn't remove the edge cluster and change it to routing only?   Would this cause any service interruption?
