On behalf of the SYSVIEW product team, we are pleased to announce that the SYSVIEW Java Virtual Machine and Language Environment component is enhanced. It now provides additional monitoring insights and management for JVMs that are running on z/OS. The functionality is delivered in Feature PTF LU18008. This PTF also delivers a new command for viewing JVM heap details and new Batch Reports and Utilities (BRUTIS) definitions for analyzing JVM dumps.
The following list summarizes the enhancements:
- New JVMHEAPD Command: The command displays information about all objects in the heap of a JVM. The command helps to improve problem determination and provides more comprehensive insights into JVM heaps.
- New BRUTIS JVM Dump Definitions: The new definitions aid in problem determination and resolution by helping you investigate JVM heap, Java core, and system dumps.
- Enhanced LISTLCMD Command: The command displays a list of all line commands that are defined in SYSVIEW. It contains a new data field named COMP that displays the name of the SYSVIEW component to which the line command definition is associated.
