Stuck on account verification

    My Broadcom account was migrated from VMware and I've been trying to download Workstation Pro for Personal Use but I have been stuck on account verification for over a day now:

    I really don't get why verification is needed to download a free product.

    How long will it take for verification to complete?

    When I bought VMware Workstand Pro and Fusion Pro, the first and last names of the bill were written in Chinese. After migration to Broadcom, they became Garbled characters. I don't know how to modify them. I tried to download Workstation Pro and got stuck on account verification due to the special characters.

    Same problem here. My account was migrated from VMware and since yestareday I am stuck on the infamous "Account verification is Pending. Please try after some time.". What does this "some time" mean? Minutes, hours, days or years?

    I hope to be wrong but this really looks like a bad start with Broadcom.

    I hope this thread gets some more attention. I am also stuck on the account verification is pending, please try again after some time. This is for a free product. In my case, I have been getting this message for over a week now. It doesn’t look like any support staff has commented on this yet, or have I missed it? What should we do to solve this issue?

    Don't worry, my account has been active since at least 2007 (I just checked) and I have the same issue. I guess after 17 years they still aren't quite sure who I am. I'll check back in 2041 then?

    Even my account migrated from VMware does not allow me to download the version for personal use

    "Account verification is Pending" has been the answer for several days

    I hope the migration will be completed soon

    I have exactly same proble, too for a week.

    I even purchased VMware Player 14 and 17 before Broadcom era.

    Same here, account was migrated across form VMware and now when I try a download of VMware Workstand Pro for personal use I get 'Account verification is Pending'...been like it for weeks now....very frustrating. Cant delete this account and create new either, bot was not a great help

    I just called Broadcom support about the “account verification is pending” error that I and apparently many other people have been getting. The person who I spoke with instructed me to post my issue on the Broadcom communities. Wow, wish I had thought of that before. What? So now I’m back here posting again. So Ravi, I don’t believe you have commented on this yet, any thoughts or something I can do other than open a case online? Which by the way, I Can’t do that either because I am still getting the invalid token error. Even if I could post a case, would I even get an email confirmation or a response back?

    When I called support to follow up on my case with the same issue, I was told that the "servers were impacted" and to "wait a while". When I asked how long a while was, I was not provided an answer. 

    so I hung up and created a fresh account with a burner email and bogus info. I was able to download the products immediately. So I suggest you do the same.  Ridiculous.

    Thanks. I was looking on Reddit and it seems that many people have had luck with creating new accounts as well. It was just that my communities and everything were consolidated with one email and didn’t want to use yet another one of my email addresses if I didn’t have to. Will likely go with, as you said, a throwaway email account here shortly. This is insane but I can’t help but laugh at this point. lol

    I understand why it can be easier to create a new account, but these wouldn't allow me to retrieve the commercial licenses I already have linked to my VMware account. Honestly, it's definitely disappointing to realize that such a big company is managing this migration matter this way

    Just create a fresh account with a burner email address and fake postal address and you can save yourself a lot of trouble. Don't bother with service tickets and all that, unless you enjoy pain and suffering.

    I have exactly the same problem - stuck for just over a week now.  Not impressed with the alledged migration from VMware.

    Have tried opening a suport ticket/case with Broadcom Support and will see what happens.

    Got told to use:

    1. Use the Customer Care Webform: https://ca-broadcom.wolkenservicedesk.com/web-form

    Ridiculous when only trying to download a free product for personal use.

    Same here, but new account registrtation. Trying to download HPE ESXi 5.5 costumization image (it is always was free on hp web site). No luck. Pending like the others dudes...

    I'm having this same problem. I have just contacted support. I don't understand why it is so hard to download a free software. This is ridiculous.

    For me it was a matter of the Trade Compliance Verification not being filled out for my account when I signed up for some reason. Going to this page and filling out the details fixed it for my account.

    I also have same issue for it after modifying details of my information.

    Still have problem for half of the year. I am suspicious whether Broadcom have a will to solve this problem or not.

    But they took nearly 2 months to reply and they simply replied with the following:

    I hope you are keeping well.

    We were unable to locate a site ID associated with the product Fusion mentioned in your request:

    This may be due to the fact that the product was either:

      • Purchased with no Support Contract
      • Purchased with a Support Contract that has expired.

    Importantly, please note that Broadcom have made changes on how we license these products going forward. Both products have been rebranded and as the Desktop Hypervisor,   and we now provide a Free Personal Use or a Paid Commercial Use subscription for our Pro apps.

    You can now download for free simply by registering and downloading the latest build from the new download portal located at support.broadcom.com

    The new Desktop Hypervisor app subscription for commercial use can be purchased from any Broadcom Advantage partner.

    Given the above information, please note that we will proceed in closing your case.

    I submitted another support request and never heard back...

    I'm having the EXACT problem. Support through email and live chat are both useless.  Apparently "personal use" just means they're not giving you access.  I stopped being nice recently because I'm tired of asking. They're not stealing my $200 without a severe headache.  VmWare Workstation Pro is a workhorse for running Parrot and Kali locally.  I will continue hitting the support "chat with agent" until I get my software added to my account permanently for easy download.
